By creating a seller account on GotMaple, you agree to these terms. If you have questions, contact sellers@gotmaple.ca before submitting your application.
To sell on GotMaple, you must be a Canadian resident or legally registered Canadian business. Sellers with annual sales exceeding $30,000 CAD must hold a valid GST/HST number issued by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). GotMaple reserves the right to decline any application at its discretion.
All product descriptions must be accurate, complete, and non-misleading. Listing counterfeit products, unsafe items, or anything prohibited by federal or provincial Canadian law is strictly forbidden.
GotMaple charges a 7% commission on each completed sale (configurable in your seller settings). There are no listing fees or monthly subscriptions. Applicable fees are viewable in your seller dashboard. Verified Indigenous-owned sellers qualify for a reduced 5% commission rate, granted following review by the GotMaple team.
Payouts are made bi-weekly (every two weeks) via Stripe Connect direct deposit to the seller's registered Canadian bank account. The minimum payout amount is $25 CAD. Payouts are withheld in cases of unresolved disputes or suspected fraud.
You must ship orders within the processing time stated on your seller page and provide a tracking number to the buyer. You are responsible for shipping delays and any lost or damaged items in transit.
You must honour GotMaple's standard 30-day return policy. Items must be returned in original condition. In unresolved disputes, GotMaple may intervene and issue a refund deducted from your next payout.
You are solely responsible for collecting and remitting applicable taxes (GST/HST/QST) to the CRA and Revenu Québec. You must issue receipts compliant with Canadian tax regulations. GotMaple provides monthly sales statements for informational purposes only.
You retain ownership of all content you publish on GotMaple (photos, descriptions, etc.). By publishing this content, you grant GotMaple a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it on the platform for commercial purposes related to your listing.
GotMaple is required to report to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) income paid to any seller whose annual payments exceed $500 CAD in a calendar year. A T4A slip will be issued to you by the last day of February of the following tax year. You are responsible for reporting this income on your personal or business tax return. Please keep your banking and tax details current in your seller dashboard to ensure accurate tax reporting.
As a seller on GotMaple, you receive buyers' personal information (name, shipping address, email) for the sole purpose of processing and shipping orders. You agree to: (a) handle this data in compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA); (b) not use, sell, or share this data for any purpose other than order fulfillment; (c) implement reasonable security measures to protect buyer information; (d) delete or anonymize buyer data upon request or no later than 24 months after the last transaction. Breach of these obligations may result in immediate account termination and legal liability.
If you operate or sell to buyers located in Quebec, you must comply with the Charter of the French Language (Loi 101). This includes: (a) providing all product descriptions, listing titles, and buyer-facing communications in French (a French version must be at least as prominent as any other language version); (b) displaying all pricing information and terms of sale in French; (c) providing customer service in French upon request. GotMaple reserves the right to deactivate listings targeting the Quebec market that do not meet this requirement.
The following categories of items are strictly prohibited on GotMaple: (a) items regulated by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), including firearms, replica weapons, fixed-blade knives exceeding 30 cm, and any item requiring a special import or sale permit; (b) controlled substances, illegal drugs, chemical precursors, and associated paraphernalia as defined under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; (c) tobacco products, vaping products, and cannabis (except legal accessories sold by licensed retailers); (d) counterfeit goods or items infringing intellectual property rights; (e) live animals or parts of wildlife species protected under CITES; (f) items presenting a confirmed safety risk or recalled by Health Canada; (g) gambling products, unauthorized lottery tickets, or solicitations disguised as charitable donations; (h) currency, banknotes, or financial securities; (i) any other item whose sale is prohibited under Canadian federal or provincial law. A complete prohibited items list is available in the Help Centre.
Either party may terminate this agreement with 30 days' notice. In cases of material breach of these terms, GotMaple may terminate your account immediately. All outstanding payouts will be honoured as of the effective termination date.
